About Derby Days Kids Parade

Derby Days is an annual summer celebration held in the bike capital of Washington, Redmond. Since 1939 people have been venturing to the eastside city for the bike races, parades, food, and fun.

The celebration began as the Redmond Bike Derby. Staged for a community of 500, the purpose of the event was to raise money for town flags and the Redmond High School athletic fund.

Each year Derby Days continues to grow and become even more extravagant. The multiple day festival is now held for the Redmond community that has exceeded 46,000 people. The Derby Day Kid’s Parade, presented by the Redmond Medical Center, is one of the largest community kids parades in the country. Each year over 900 kids walk the streets of Redmond and become a star.
